TERMS & CONDITIONS

These Terms and Conditions apply to the provision of driving tuition by DriveSafe School, located at The Dell, Abbeywood, SE2 0RW, to students who require such tuition.

2. DRIVING INSTRUCTOR

2.1 I am a self-employed driving instructor, not employed by any other driving school, and provide tuition under these Terms and Conditions.

3. DRIVING LESSONS: BOOKING, CANCELLATION & DELAYS

3.1 Lessons must be pre-booked in person, by phone, email, social media, or via our website. Lesson details such as date, time, location, and duration must be agreed.

3.2 Booking a lesson constitutes an offer; a contract exists only when I confirm acceptance.

3.3 Multiple lessons booked at once are treated as one contract if accepted.

3.4 Lessons are not guaranteed unless confirmed. I will, however, try to provide regular slots when possible.

3.5 If you arrive more than 30 minutes late, I may cancel the lesson; charges may apply per Clause 3.7.

3.6 Lessons cancelled with at least 48 hours’ notice incur no charge, and prepaid sums will be refunded.

3.7 Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice may be charged up to 100% of the lesson price. Any prepaid amount will be adjusted accordingly.

3.8 I may cancel a lesson with at least 48 hours’ notice at no cost to you. If I fail to provide this notice, you will receive an additional 30-minute lesson free of charge.

3.9 I may also cancel a lesson without liability if:

I am unavailable due to illness, vehicle issues, or circumstances beyond my control.

I reasonably believe you are unfit to drive at the time (e.g., alcohol, drugs, illness).

3.10 Delays in starting a lesson will be added on at no extra charge or refunded proportionally if you choose to cancel.

3.11 If the contract is made off-premises, you have the right to cancel within 14 days, except for lessons expressly requested and provided during that period. Refunds for cancelled lessons will be processed within 14 days.

4. LESSONS: LOCATION & LENGTH

4.1 Lesson locations will be agreed upon booking. Additional travel may count as lesson time if you request transport.

4.2 The minimum lesson duration is 2 hours; extensions may be made in 30-minute increments up to 4 hours.

5. FEES & PAYMENT

5.1 Fees are charged hourly; current rates are available at https://www.drivesafeschool.com/prices

5.2 Fees may change; however, pre-paid lessons are charged at the rate at the time of booking.

5.3 Payment must be made in advance via cash, debit/credit card, or website. Receipts will be provided.

5.4 Lessons must be used within six months of purchase; unused lessons will be forfeited after expiry.

5.5 Refunds may be requested before expiry; cash/bank transfer payments are refunded 100%, card payments may incur administration fees.

5.6 Refunds will be processed within 7 days of your request.

6. MY OBLIGATIONS

I will:

Provide lessons at agreed times using reasonable efforts.

Train you to a high standard but am not responsible for errors made by you.

Act professionally, courteously, and in accordance with the DVSA Code of Practice and the law.

7. YOUR OBLIGATIONS

You must:

Be a consumer as defined above.

Hold a valid UK driving licence and carry it during lessons.

Be legally entitled to lessons if training for a retest.

Meet the eyesight requirement, wear prescribed glasses/contacts, and inform me of medical conditions affecting driving.

Failure to comply may result in lesson cancellation at my discretion, with charges applied if reasonable.

8. VEHICLES & INSURANCE

All vehicles provided will have dual controls, be roadworthy, taxed, insured, and have a valid MOT where required.

9. DRIVING TESTS

I will advise when you are ready to take your test.

Booking and verifying tests are your responsibility.

Permission to use my vehicle is at my discretion; I will try to provide alternatives if unavailable.

If I consider your progress insufficient, I may restrict use of my vehicle for tests.

10. CANCELLATION & TERMINATION

I may terminate tuition if your conduct or progress falls below reasonable standards.

You may terminate tuition subject to notice requirements.

Prepaid lessons will be refunded according to Clause 5.

11. LIABILITY

I am responsible for foreseeable losses caused by my negligence or breach. I am not liable for business losses. Nothing limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or consumer rights under law.

20. GIFT CERTIFICATES

Non-transferable, no cash value, must be redeemed by the expiry date.

Lost or damaged certificates will not be reissued.

Availability of lesson times is not guaranteed.

21. REFERRALS

Refer a friend and receive a £20 gift voucher (e.g., Amazon, cash, etc.).

Voucher issued after referred friend completes ten hours of lessons.
